PROSPECTS REYNOSO and SERRANO TO BATTLE FOR RIVERSIDE SUPREMACY!
“LOCK ‘N LOADED III” SEPTEMBER 17
ONTARIO, CA, September 1 – Boxing fans of the Inland Empire will be treated to a crossroads main event featuring two of the region’s top 140-pound prospects on Friday, September 17 when Thompson Boxing Promotions in association with Fox Sports en Español and sponsored by Lucas Oil, presents a six-bout card billed as “LOCK ‘N LOADED III” at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California.
Jose “El Niño” Reynoso (12-3-1, 1 KO) will face his toughest nemesis Hector “Teco” Serrano (13-0, 5 KOs) who will put his undefeated record on the line in the scheduled 10-round headliner for the vacant WBC Latino Light Welterweight Title.
The 25-year old Reynoso sustained a pair of consecutive losses early in his career, but has seen his stock rise in his last 10 bouts which have featured eight wins and a draw against opposition all entering the ring with winning records. His only loss during that period came at the hands of Dean Byrne (now 13-0) by decision in May 2009. He is coming off a pair of epic bouts against then-undefeated Aris Ambriz – a draw back in January followed by a victory by majority decision in the April rematch at the Doubletree in Ontario.
Serrano, also age 25, is fresh off a fourth-round stoppage of Angel Hernandez in a main event held in Seattle back in June. It was a most impressive showing by Serrano, who was fighting outside of southern California for the first time as a pro. It was the second straight knockout win for Serrano, who previously dispatched Francisco Zepeda inside of two rounds back in March.
Tickets for “LOCK ‘N LOADED III”, priced at $75, $45, and $30, are available now and may be purchased by calling 714-935-0900.
The undercard will feature a clash of undefeated California super bantamweights, with Carson’s Efrain Esquivias (9-0, 5 KOs) taking on Ephraim Martinez (4-0, 1 KO), of Salinas in a scheduled six-rounder.
Two other bouts slated for six rounds of action will pit once-beaten Artemio “King” Reyes (6-1, 5 KOs) of Riverside versus Portland, OR veteran Michael Lucero (12-16-2, 4 KOs) in a welterweight confrontation, and Jose Roman (7-0, 6 KOs), from Garden Grove, CA opposing Jesus Garnica (3-0-1, 3 KOs), from Tucson, AZ in a duel of undefeated lightweights.
Opening the September 17 show will be a pair of scheduled four-rounders featuring young pros just kicking off their careers. In the evening’s first bout, Indio, CA bantamweight Diego Madrigal will debut against an opponent to be named. That will be followed by a light welterweight contest with Jhon Ortega (1-0, 1 KO) of Londonderry, NH, going up against German Bacho (0-1), from Santa Rosa, CA.
Bouts are subject to change. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the first bell rings at 7:45pm. The Doubletree Hotel is located at 222 North Vineyard Avenue in Ontario. The hotel phone number is 909-937-0900.
“Lock ‘N Loaded III” will be taped for broadcast by Fox Sports en Español at a later date to be announced.
