SAN DIEGO, CA – Undefeated welterweight, Giovani Santillan (29-0, 16 KOS), picked up an impressive seventh round stoppage of Jeovannis Barraza (23-3, 15 KOs), as co-main event of ESPN’s televised bout from The Hanger in Costa Mesa, California, this past Saturday. With the win, Santillan is ready to take his career to the next level.
“This guy was tough, and my performance showed that I can compete with great fighters,” continued Santillan, who is co-promoted with Top Rank. “I know I had to fight a smart disciplined fight, and I think this bout showed my growth as a fighter. I’m ready to take on all big names at welterweight.”
Santillan is fighting in a historic division, the welterweight division, where some of the best fighters are campaigning.
