Jimmy Wallhead (31-11) will compete in a record-equalling bout when he returns to action for Cage Warriors on Friday 22nd July in London, England.
The English veteran, who recently signed a multi-fight deal to compete exclusively for CW, will take on Daniel Skibiński (18-7) in a welterweight contest at Cage Warriors 141, which is set for the Indigo at The O2.
It will see Wallhead match Jack Mason’s record of 17 professional MMA bouts under the Cage Warriors banner. The 38-year-old made his CW debut back in 2005.
After a two-fight stint with the UFC, Wallhead clocked up back-to-back victories with Bellator in 2019. He’ll aim to extend his win streak to three when he straps on the yellow gloves again this summer.
“I’m super excited to be stepping back into the Cage Warriors cage on 22nd July,” said the Loughborough native, whose most recent outing for the organisation ended in a KO victory over Juan Manuel Suarez in November 2014 in Newcastle, England.
“It will be a difficult first fight back against the very tough and talented Daniel Skibiński, but it’s one I’m looking forward to. It’s got ‘Fight of the Night’ written all over it – I can’t wait.”
Skibiński will be intent on returning to winning ways when he makes the journey from Poland for a match-up that is sure to generate considerable attention on the European circuit.
Despite impressing during last month’s meeting with Justin Burlinson in Manchester, the 31-year-old suffered a second-round submission loss following a gripping battle that earned his opponent a title shot.
“After my Cage Warriors debut loss, I’m extra motivated to prove what I’m made of and my goal remains the same: to be the Cage Warriors welterweight champion.
“Jimmy Wallhead is a good and very experienced fighter, so you can expect a really good, exciting fight,” Skibiński said.
Tickets are on sale NOW for Cage Warriors 141, with more fights to be announced over the coming weeks.
