The next stop on the Road To ONE 168: Denver starts at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, with ONE Fight Night 22!
It’s a captivating lineup of 11 high-stakes battles that touches the entire combat sports spectrum, as there will be matches contested in MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling. What’s more, the show will be topped by a must-see ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title clash.
A Trio Of Surging World Title Challengers
There are three pivotal bouts that could produce the next challengers for a trio of ONE World Titles.
In the co-main event, undefeated 10-0 featherweight MMA finishers Akbar Abdullaev and Halil Amir collide with an eye on divisional kingpin Tang Kai.
Also, former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion and current #1-ranked contender Hiroki Akimoto welcomes pound-for-pound star Wei Rui to ONE, with the winner possibly lining himself up for a showdown with two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty.
Plus, former World Title challengers Sinsamut Klinmee and Dmitry Menshikov throw down for a chance to exact revenge on ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Champion Regian Eersel.
Women’s Combat Sports Movement Continues.
ONE continues to pride itself as a destination for women in martial artists, and six of the world’s most talented female athletes will be featured at ONE Fight Night 22. It’s perfect timing too, considering it’s National Women’s Health Month.
In the main event, ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Smilla Sundell defends her belt against dangerous Russian knockout artist Natalia Diachkova. The card also features IBJJF World Champion Bianca Basilio grappling with Japanese standout Nanami Ichikawa, and undefeated Shooto Atomweight MMA Champion Chihiro Sawada meets French-Thai judo black belt Noelle Grandjean.
ONE Championship Is Home To The World’s Greatest Strikers
ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong previously commented that ONE has the greatest roster of World Champion strikers on the planet, and this card illustrates this. The card is loaded at the top with Sundell, Diachkova, Sinsamut, Menshikov, Akimoto, and Wei. But there are so many other elite strikers on the show.
Those include Thai veteran Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong, rising kickboxing contender Bogdan Shumarov, explosive knockout artist Thongpoon PK Saenchai, Middle Eastern dynamo Zakaria El Jamari, American Muay Thai luminary Sean Climaco, and Mexican hard-hitter Josue Cruz.
