Downey, CA – Boxlab Promotions and Warriors Boxing are proud to announce the signing of an exclusive co-promotional agreement with 18-year-old amateur standout David Ramirez Lima, a rising star from Downey, California. Lima, who will compete in the lightweight division, was brought to the attention of Hall of Fame trainer Joe Goossen, who played a pivotal role in connecting the young talent with Boxlab Promotions and Warriors Boxing and will be the liaison for both parties.
Lima is now set to transition into the professional ranks under elite guidance and mentorship. As he embarks on his professional career, Lima will continue training under the tutelage of renowned boxing coach, Carlos “Chino” Espinoza. Espinoza, a respected figure in the sport, has a rich history of working with world champions such as Antonio Margarito, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Alfredo “El Perro” Angulo, and Daniel Ponce De Leon to name a few. His expertise and experience will be instrumental in shaping Lima into a future champion.
Lima, who has established a reputation in the Southern California boxing scene for his powerful, aggressive fighting style, is eager to make his mark in the professional ranks.
“Words can’t describe how happy I am to be joining such an incredible team with Boxlab Promotions and Warriors Boxing,” said Lima. “I want to thank my coach Carlos Espinoza and Joe Goossen for making this deal for me. It’s an honor to be associated with great boxing minds. To have two powerhouse promotions backing my career is a dream come true. I’m ready to put in the work and make my mark in the lightweight division. I can’t wait to show the world what I got. My goal is to be the next great Latino boxing star.”
“David is a special fighter with incredible natural talent and a great work ethic,” said Espinoza. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with him for the past few years, and I truly believe he has what it takes to become a world champion. This partnership with Boxlab Promotions and Warriors Boxing is a fantastic opportunity for his career, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.”
“This kid is special, and I only say that about one out of every five hundred fighters who walk into my gym,” said Goossen. “You can hear his punches land—he’s very heavy-handed and extremely accurate. He’s got that classic Mexican style where he can apply pressure, but he can also box when needed. He’s already excelled in sparring against world title contenders in my gym, and his body punching is next level. His left hand is a real weapon, and he knows how to mix in uppercuts beautifully. Lima is going to make noise in this sport.”
Lima’s signing further solidifies Boxlab Promotions and Warriors Boxing’s commitment to developing top-tier talent and bringing the next generation of elite fighters to the forefront of the sport.
“David Lima has the talent, the mindset, and now the team to take him to the highest level in boxing,” stated Boxlab Promotions President Amaury Piedra, who is confident Lima has all the tools to become a future star. “With his natural power, work ethic, and the guidance of a great trainer in Espinoza, the sky is the limit. We’re excited for what the future holds for this young man.”
“We are excited to see what the future holds for Lima,” said Luis DeCubas Sr., COO of Warriors Boxing. “Together with Boxlab Promotions, we have plans to put him at the forefront of all our shows. He’s an incredible talent and most importantly he’s a big puncher. This kid is going to make a lot of noise in the lightweight division.”
Lima has set ambitious goals for himself, including staying highly active in the ring stating. “I want to fight at least five times a year. Staying fresh and gaining experience is key to my development, and I’m ready for the challenge.”
A date for Lima’s professional debut is expected to be announced soon as he begins his journey toward a wonderful professional career.
