Keityn dominated the top charts of Latin music in 2023 with hits like “Monotonía” and “Acróstico” by Shakira; “Amargura,” “Cairo,” and “Mi Ex Tenía Razón” by Karol G, among other songs.
The multi-faceted Colombian music creator has garnered wide acclaim for his impressive musical innovation and trend-setting compositions, and he has become one of the most prominent and in-demand songwriters in modern music, employing his golden pen to leave his unmistakable stamp on hits for some of today’s biggest stars, including Shakira, Karol G, Fuerza Regida, and J Balvin, among many others.
2023 marked an unprecedented year for Keityn, who in addition to being invited to participate on the Superstar Songwriter panel alongside fellow hitmaker Edgar Barrera during Billboard Latin Music Week, contributed eight songs to Karol G’s groundbreaking album “Mañana Será Bonito,” including “TQG” with Shakira, “Provenza,” and “Amargura.” The album shattered records, carrying Karol G to No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 Albums chart and making her the first female artist to place an all-Spanish-language album at No. 1 on that chart.
Keityn was also among the most nominated figures at the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, receiving a total of seven nominations in the main categories, which included Songwriter of the Year and Best Urban Song. His work with Karol G and Shakira allowed him to take home three awards: Album of the Year for Karol G’s “Mañana Será Bonito,” Best Urban Performance for “TQG” and Song of the Year for “Shakira: BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53.”
Upon receiving ASCAP Latino’s 2024 Songwriter of the Year award, Keityn reaffirms his position among the other legendary songwriters who have previously accepted the award, including Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny, and will continue to make his mark on the world’s contemporary music landscape.
